God created the universe with a word. With the word
and the word, some creatures are raised and others are lowered. The
good word is a charity and the bad word leads its owner to
destruction. Love is a word. In the past merchants dealt with
selling and buying with words. This word was called " a word of
honour" It was my aim to write an article in one of the greatest
papers until I was put forward through the ministry of education
for a training programme in the Egyptian newspaper, Al Ahram. That
was a regional institute of press which was headed, in that time by
the great master, Usama Saraya. I met the journalist Mr. Mohammed
Abdel Khaliq who chose fifteen trainers of those who were training
with me to form the committee of forming subjects. This committee
will be issued in a newspaper belonging to the Egyptian newspaper,
Al Ahram. This newspaper will have a name of the group which we were
called by in the ministry at that time(the difficult "embarrassing
mass". Hence I started to learn the stages by which the article we
will read in the papers can be produced.
It is as follows:
1)
The subjects which will
be written in the newspaper were shown. It was settled and agreed
upon in a large meeting with the learners in the institute at that
time after a severe suffering and discussions through which we
learnt the opinion and the other opinion.
2)
The subjects were
distributed to the learners to write in the style each one sees and
according to their imaginations.
3)
An appointment was made
for the subjects to be delivered to the forming committee.
4)
After receiving the
subjects from the learners, Mr. Mohammed Abdel Khaliq held a meeting
with us and we started reading the subjects as they were issued from
the hands of our colleagues, editors

Mr. Mohammed Abdel
Khaliq was asked to discuss some of these subjects. I think that
these subjects were very long. One of these subjects was written in
14 pages. I was asked to shorten it into two pages provided that the
basic subject wouldn't be corrupted. It was a difficult task.

I stayed up to a late
hour at night to finish that subject in two days but I could only
shorten it in (seven pages no less) I returned to him with it and he
insisted on making a short cut of two pages.

I learnt from here that
the style and the choice of the word are of the most important
reasons for the excel of a writer over another writer and also a
reason for the readers to prefer a certain writer to another one.
From this situation, I also learnt that the person who is
responsible for publishing has the right to abbreviate and delete or
change anything in the subject in the frame of the main idea of the
subject. This of course was for the small writers not the great
ones. It is not for the great writers or the experienced ones or
those who have a journalistic sense.

Of the most important
stages of journalistic writing for beginners, every writer of us
shows his subject to his colleague to criticize it after trying to
read, abbreviate and modify some of his styles.

From this step I learnt
that I shouldn't take side with what I wrote. The colleague's
opinion may be more accurate and more useful for the subject. It
will be an addition to the subject not a criticism just for
criticism. This is called the objectivity in writing.
10)
All the subjects of the
difficult mass have been completed in this shape and for all
subjects without any exceptions. The subjects which have been
revised were various.
11)
The turn of choosing
subjects which will be chosen to appear for the public has come to
be within the hand of readers.

With great good luck
from Allah, the great lofty and following the holy verse "Allah do
not waste the remuneration of those who behave well" A whole special
subject was chosen for me. It was about the file of achievements of
the student in the primary stage. The subject was under the name of
"Portopholio between understanding and application" It speaks about
how to understand the nature of this file and its effects on
accustoming the students to practice the activities which are
parallel to the school subjects and those which raise the degrees of
getting it. This also helps him to show his personality and his
tendencies for both parents and the teachers who are responsible for
teaching him. This makes it easy to guide the student to the way
which fails in to get the most benefit of his potentialities
considering that education is not scientific subjects but
activities, skills and potentialities.
I had the good luck to establish two articles I
participated in preparing them. The first one was about the national
measures of education in Egypt. The second was about the technology
of the age and education in Egypt.
I can't describe to you my happiness when I read what
was published for me in this paper which was issued once only. This
paper was published to prove to people that the person who worked
hard was able to reach what he wanted. It was an encouragement for
me to write in different private courses dealing with work. It also
encouraged me to work in some regional papers. It was useful for me
in my work. I used what I have achieved of my simple experience when
I have to write. I had to write about matters which the word
limited a lot of things. So I thank the ministry of education for
giving me the chance. I also thank greatly all the lecturers who
offered me an idea or added a piece of information or experience to
me to reach what I had achieved. I also give my great thanks to Mr.
Mohammed Abdel Khaleq for his efforts with me and for teaching me
properly. I also thank him for encouraging me to achieve one of the
things I have dreamed of one day. This dream was to write an article
in a great paper. This was a modest experience I felt one day with
my dear colleagues from the Arab Republic of Egypt. From this
experience I learnt a lot and satisfied my dream.
